Pacific Brim - label launch September 2017

Pacific Brim - shade the sun seeker - a unique range of hand-made men’s headwear sourced from the Pacific Region will be making its debut at Strand Hatters in the Strand Arcade, Sydney on Thursday 21 September 2017.

Pacific Brim headwear designer, Rosie Boylan says “this is a truly Pacific collaboration that showcases the talent and manufacturing potential in our own region, with a striking and unique range of men’s’ headwear.”

This sustainable product draws on the traditional artisan weaving skills of Vanuatu, with product development by Rosie Boylan Headwear, trade support from Pacific Trade Invest Australia along with representation by iconic headwear store Strand Hatters, who will be the exclusive retailers for this product.

“Strand Hatters pride themselves on ethical, sustainably sourced headwear, which is why we love working with Rosie and the woman of Vanuatu”, says Strand Hatters Manager Robert Carroll.

Pacific Brim hats are made from sustainable pandanas plants that grow naturally in Vanuatu, where the hats are woven. The fibre is robust but pliable allowing the hats to be folded, perfect for storing. Additionally each hat has a “stow loop” enabling the hat to be tied to a travel bag, ideal for the man on the move. Hand-dyed in a subtle range of colour options, the styling is relaxed and contemporary.

It is Pacific Brim’s vision to provide a sustainable income for the Pacific weavers and to create ethically and regionally-sourced headwear for the contemporary sun seeker.
